We started Aura in Beirut with one thought we kept coming back to.
Good fragrance is stuck in the wrong places. It sits behind a counter, in a box, at a price that makes you commit before you know. And it is never there in the moment you actually want it, which is on the way out the door.
So we built the machine we wanted to walk past. Five authentic designer fragrances, one spray at a time, in the gym you just left or the lobby you are crossing. Nothing to buy, nothing to carry, nothing to plan.
The second half of it matters just as much to us. A room feels different when it takes care of the small things, and we like being the reason a place feels a little more considered than it did yesterday. Every venue we put a machine in is one more room that sends people out feeling better than they came in.
We are still small, we still answer our own email, and we still turn up to install the machines ourselves.
What we hold to
Authentic or nothing
Every fragrance is the genuine article from authorised supply, named openly on the screen. No dupes, no decants of unknown origin, nothing "inspired by".
Characters, not shelves
You don't wake up wanting a specific bottle. You wake up wanting to feel a certain way. The five slots are built around that, and the roster behind each one rotates.
A measured dose
The machine sprays the same amount every time, so what lands on your wrist is what the bottle would give you. One spray costs 100,000 LBP.
Accessible where you are
One spray and twenty seconds, in the room you are already standing in. That is the whole point of putting it on a wall instead of behind a counter.
The machine
Built to sit in a
good room.
About a metre wide, wall-mounted or freestanding, one standard socket. A touchscreen for choosing, card and cash for paying, a mirror panel at eye height, and five nozzles along the bottom edge, one per slot.
The wrap carries the Aura letterform, cut and looped so it reads as pattern before it reads as a name. It comes in three finishes so it can belong to your room rather than interrupt it.
